Two fatalities have been reported after a Canter and a truck engaged each other in a head-on collision at Migaa, Salgaa area along Nakuru- Eldoret highway.
The Canter was coming from Eldoret to Nakuru and was ferrying maize when it got involved in the deadly crash.
The accident was confirmed by Molo traffic chief James Gatara who said the lorry had three occupants, two dying on the spot and the other who was badly injured was rushed to hospital.
“This morning at around 5 am, a Canter lorry’s brakes failed and it hit the rear of a trailer. The Canter driver and the owner of the maize died on the spot while the injured loader was rushed to Molo GSU dispensary,” Gatara said.
After the collision, another one happened again still at the scene after a county fire engine which was responding to the emergency hit the rear of the ill-fated truck leaving one individual sustaining serious injuries.
The engine had oversped its brakes failing hitting the truck.
The bodies have been taken to Molo Hospital Mortuary.
Mr Gatara has advised motorists to be Keen while plying the road to avoid such dreaded carnages.
