Why Uhuru Has No Twitter And Facebook Account

It has been close to a year since Uhuru Kenyatta’s twitter account and Facebook account were suspended. All social media accounts that had been posting for the head of state were deactivated.

State House operatives gave unauthorized access as the reason behind the deactivations.

Chief of Staff Office of the President, Nzioka Waita, tweeted; ‘On account of unauthorized access to the official social media handles of H.E the President of the Republic of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta. All official social media handles for the President have been temporarily suspended to allow for the necessary remedial measures to be undertaken’.

The President’s twitter account was deactivated to clean up access after the account posted;

‘’If you are corrupt we will fight you. You can be my brother or my sister or my closest political ally, but if you are corrupt we will fight you. I won’t be clouded by ethnicity or status in my quest to leave behind a united nation and I will continue championing for Kenya’s unity.’

The post, that appeared to attack the Deputy President William Ruto, was alleged to have been made by the person behind the ‘unauthorized access’.

The term ‘closest political ally’ was not supposed to be part of the official communication on the President’s accounts. The aforementioned phrase, that could easily be connected to the President’s deputy, was cleverly edited out of videos and audios disseminated by PSCU to newsrooms.
